About the newsroom
Springgrovev is a small editorial team committed to factual, data-grounded reporting on the Thai economy.
Springgrovev is an independent economics news publication founded in 2019 and headquartered in Khon Kaen, in Thailand's northeastern region. We report on the forces that shape economic life in Thailand — from decisions made in the Finance Ministry in Bangkok to the wage levels and food costs that affect families in Roi Et, Udon Thani, and the broader Isan region. Our primary readers are professionals, small-business owners, academics, and policy-engaged citizens who need accurate economic information presented without unnecessary complexity. We do not assume prior training in economics; we do assume that you are willing to engage with evidence. Our five core editorial beats — macro-economy, business, labor market, policy, and household budgets — were chosen because they map directly onto the questions our early readers asked most frequently. We publish explainers, data-driven analysis, and original reporting. We do not publish opinion columns, investment advice, price predictions, or sponsored content dressed as editorial. Since our launch, we have published more than 340 original articles and built a subscriber base that spans all 77 Thai provinces, with particular density among readers in the northern and northeastern regions who find that national outlets underserve their geographic area.
Our editorial team consists of five full-time journalists and two data analysts. Every article goes through a two-stage review: the reporter's draft is checked first for factual accuracy against primary sources — official statistics releases, Ministry of Finance budget documents, Bank of Thailand publications — and then reviewed for clarity by a second editor whose job is specifically to flag jargon or compressed reasoning that a general reader would not follow. We cite every data point with a source and date. Where government datasets contain methodological limitations, we say so explicitly in the article. We do not produce market commentary, stock picks, or anything that could be construed as financial advice. We do not cover cryptocurrency or foreign-exchange trading. Our analysis describes what has happened and, where the evidence supports it, explains why — it does not tell readers what to do with their money. Results we report — such as employment figures or inflation readings — depend on the accuracy of official data providers, and we note those dependencies openly. Readers who require professional financial or legal guidance should consult appropriately qualified advisors. We are funded through reader subscriptions and an annual editorial grant from a regional university foundation; we accept no advertising from financial-services companies.

Macro-economy, business, labor market, policy, and household budgets — each covered with consistent sourcing standards.
Subscribers in every Thai province, with strong readership in the north and northeast — regions often underserved by Bangkok-based outlets.

Springgrovev fills a genuine gap. Regional economic data exists in official releases, but someone still has to synthesise it into a story a non-specialist can use. That is exactly what this team does — methodically and without sensationalism.
